LOYAL CONTRIBUTORS

Have you been giving to United Way for 10 years or more? If so, United Way of Indian River County wants to recognize you as a Loyal Contributor, and thank you for all you have done for so many children, families, seniors, and individuals in our community. As a Loyal Contributor, your steadfast support has had a profound impact and continues to provide the foundation upon which United Way invests and aligns resources to create significant lasting change that positively impacts people’s lives.

Loyal Contributors will receive occasional updates keeping them informed about United Way activities, programs, and initiatives. For more information about our Loyal Contributor program, please contact Sydney Mihailoff at (772) 567-8900, ext. 117 or [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to United Way!

LEADERSHIP INVESTMENT SOCIETY

Our Leadership Investment Society members play a critical role in United Way’s future and make an important difference in our ability to raise the resources needed to make our community’s critical health and human service needs. Members of the Leadership Investment Society make an annual commitment to the campaign of anywhere from $1,000 to $9,999.

When you make an annual gift of $1,000 or more (that’s $20/week), you are helping our community in so many ways. Here are a few examples of what a $1,000 gift provides.
  • One-month stay for a mother and her children at a domestic violence shelter
  • 180 meals delivered to homebound seniors
  • Emergency assistance after a disaster for two families

Join other leaders in helping people in this extraordinary way. Together, we celebrate, learn, and encourage others.

ALEXIS DE TOCQUEVILLE SOCIETY

The Alexis de Tocqueville Society give recognition to individuals who contribute a minimum of $10,000 to the United Way annually. The name of the society was chosen because of de Tocqueville’s admiration for the American spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy. Tocqueville members stand as strong symbols of support for initiates and programs that improve lives while building a stronger, healthier, more vibrant community.

For more information about the Alexis de Tocqueville Society, please contact Meredith Egan at (772) 567-8900, ext. 125 or [email protected].

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

PLANNED GIVING

Creating or revisiting your estate plan is a good time to consider charitable giving. Charitable bequests are a meaningful reflection of your values and priorities. Beyond the tax advantages, you can provide for causes that are close to your heart and feel good about leaving a legacy of giving.

For more information about leaving a legacy, please contact Elizabeth Ullian at (772) 569-6777, or [email protected].

IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER

You can help strengthen the lives of our neighbors here in Indian River County by making an IRA charitable rollover gift. If you are 70 ½ or older, the IRA rollover is a great way to reduce your taxable income and further the work and mission of United Way of Indian River County.

  • Rollover up to and including $100,000 of your IRA directly to United Way
  • The transferred assets will not be recognized as taxable income.
  • The gift can be used to meet all or part of an IRA’s annual required minimum distribution

STOCK GIFTS

Giving a gift of appreciated stock (securities that have been held for more than one year) benefits your community and save you tax dollars at the same time!

  • Claim the market value of the securities as a tax-deductible contribution
  • Avoid the capital gains tax on the profit from the sale of securities

Please consult your tax advisor if you intend to make a stock or IRA contribution. For more information, contact Meredith Egan at (772) 567-8900, ext. 125 for specific instructions.
