Day of Caring

OCTOBER 15TH

This one-day volunteer event is unlike any other in Indian River County! Each year countless volunteers roll up their sleeves and work together to make a difference in our community.

Indian River County Middle and Hish School students help to assemble over 3,000 weekend snack packs that will be distributed to local elementary school students.

United Way’s Day of Caring is a great opportunity for individuals, families, friends or teams to spend a morning giving back to the community. Join folks from all around this county for an opportunity to make a real difference.

Nonprofits often don’t have the resources to keep up with all of the good work they do – so this is our chance to help them and make Indian River County a better place.

The day begins at 8:00 AM with a welcome, sign in, and complimentary breakfast at the VBHS Citrus Bowl. Volunteer projects begin at the site locations promptly at 9:00 AM.

Register to volunteer as an individual or team, or submit a project request.

Registration is now open through October 7, 2022.

Register your project by using the button at the top of the page.

Click the Volunteer Registration button at the top of the page or click here. Follow the instructions to complete your personal registration form and click accept when it prompts you to accept the waiver.

When you are done with the form, you will be directed to a new screen where you can do the following:

  • Most importantly, share the event with your friends. This is how your team members will register. Click the ‘Share with your friends’ button on the top left of the screen. When you click this it will generate a link. Copy the link and email it to your team members. Everyone will need to register themselves.
  • Add to your calendar (see the link on the right side of the screen)
  • Cancel your register (see the link on the right side of the screen)

All volunteers will be required to complete and sign a liability form.

We do our best to match large volunteer groups with available projects if you would like to stay together. You may also choose to submit applications for separate volunteer teams to impact more agencies or to accommodate your staffing and scheduling needs.

Yes! We’d love to help your school complete a project!

In the registration form, you will have an opportunity to submit any additional information that we may need to help match the best project for you and your group.

In many cases, all materials needed for a project will be provided; however, depending on the project, you may be asked if you can bring extra tools if they are available (i.e. a shovel, drill, etc.)

Sunscreen is also a good idea if you will be working outside.
