United Way of Indian River County is looking for passionate and community-minded volunteers to serve on one of several virtual Citizen Review Panels. Our primary concern is for the health of all participants involved and will be instituting a completely electronic Citizens Review Process this year. All meetings will be conducted virtually or via phone conference and volunteer panelists will be required to have a computer with speakers and an internet connection.
Throughout April, Associate Panelists via online conferencing will review grant applications, conduct non-profit agency site visits, and evaluate and recommend programming to aid in funding decisions. As a Citizens Review Process volunteer, you are helping direct local donor funds to fill the biggest gaps in our community. This year, 15 non-profit agencies have applied for grant funding under the Impact Area of Education.
“The Citizen Review Process is how United Way invests in programs that will help solve identified community needs. It is a great way to learn about your community and the issues facing it. It also gives you a voice at the table to help facilitate change,” said United Way’s Director of Community Impact, Nate Bruckner.
If you are interested but do not have access to a computer with speakers and internet, United Way can accommodate a small number of volunteers at the office. Volunteer applications can be found online at UnitedWayIRC.org/CRP. For more information about how you can join the virtual Citizens Review Process, please contact Eve Ballance at (772) 567-8900, ext. 120 or [email protected].
