Mission United
Proudly Serving Those Who Have Served
Connecting Indian River County veterans and their families to the support they've earned.

Continuing the work of the Veterans Council of Indian River County.
As of Oct. 1, 2026, the services of the Veterans Council are provided through Mission United. Veterans can count on the same transportation, case management and direct assistance, from the same drivers and staff. All funds transferred from the Veterans Council will be used for veterans in Indian River County, and gifts made for a specific purpose remain restricted to that purpose.
What we do
Veterans’ needs rarely fall into one category, so Mission United connects veterans and their families to help across our community:
- Transportation — rides to VA appointments, medical visits and essential errands
- Case management — one person to help navigate benefits, paperwork and next steps
- Direct assistance — help with urgent needs so a short-term setback doesn’t become a crisis
- Community connections — referrals to trusted local partners for housing, health, mental health, aging and employment support
Mission United does not replace the VA or local Veteran Service Officers. We work alongside them, so veterans reach the right resource faster.
How it works
One call. One point of contact.
Whichever door a veteran walks through, Mission United connects them to the full range of support they’re eligible for. Call us and a Mission United team member will follow up with you directly.
The need here at home
Veterans are our neighbors
Roughly 16,000 veterans call Indian River County home, about one in nine residents, well above Florida’s average. More than a quarter of them live below the ALICE threshold, which means they work hard but still struggle to afford basics like housing, food and transportation.
That’s nearly 4,500 local veterans and families we can reach together.
Partners
No one organization can do this alone
Mission United works alongside the VA, Veteran Service Officers and community organizations across Indian River County to strengthen referral pathways in both directions, so veterans are connected to the full range of support they’re eligible for.
Local veteran organizations also serve on the Mission United advisory council, keeping the veteran community directly involved in guiding this work.
