Get ready for a night of family fun, food, and friendly competition at the 15th Annual Sawbones vs. Jawbones Charity Softball Game. The event will take place Friday, May 8 at Holman Stadium at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, benefiting United Way of Indian River County.

The annual crowd favorite features a lighthearted showdown between Indian River County’s doctors and lawyers, bringing together two professions for a great cause. After finally taking the win last year for the first time since 2017, the Sawbones are hoping to hang onto the title and keep the bragging rights in the operating room.

The evening kicks off at 5:00 PM with the United Way Little League Cup, followed by the main event at 6:45 PM when the Sawbones (doctors) take on the Jawbones (lawyers) on the same historic field where legends of the game once played at Holman Stadium.

“This is one of those nights that just feels like Indian River County, people showing up, having fun, and supporting their neighbors,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “It’s a great event on its own, but what really matters is that it helps fund 48 local programs that 1 in 4 people here rely on every day.”

This year’s team organizer(s), Jesse H. Larsen, Esq. and Thomas Baudo, M.D. added, “It’s not every day you see doctors and lawyers sharing the same field, but that’s part of the fun. There’s plenty of friendly competition, and at the end of the day, it’s all about putting on a great night for the community.”

Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5 per car to support United Way’s work across Indian River County. Guests can enjoy concessions and high-energy performances from the teams.

Last year’s event raised more than $5,000, thanks to the support of local sponsors and attendees. Organizers are hoping to make this milestone 15th year the most successful yet.
